All assets in a learner's asset store remains private unless shared. Moreover, they have full control over who sees their work whether it's shared internally with members of the institution, or shared with people external to the institution. Users also have the option to share their ePortfolios universally to the world-wide-web. All permissions can be revoked  at anytime or can be set to expire at a given point. Once items have been submitted for assessment the institution has shared ownership of permissions to ensure appropriate assessment and review processes can be followed.
