This guide covers how to add multiple PebblePad assignments to the same Canvas course.

What is this?


Canvas course with multiple PebblePad assignments


Not limited to adding one PebblePad assignment to a Canvas course, it's possible to add multiple assignments. All are saved in the linked ATLAS workspace, meaning quick access for instructors, whilst also efficiently handling enrolments.






How To Set-up



Before proceeding, first complete: Add A PebblePad Assignment

Requires the user to be enrolled as a Teacher or Course Designer on the Canvas course.


1. Access the Canvas course assignments

Within the Canvas course, use the main menu to go to Assignments.

Select the +Assignment button to create a new assignment


2. Assignment settings

Type an assignment title in the text field

Add instructional content in the main text area

Set Points to 100

Choose External tool from the Submission Tool dropdown menu

Select the Find button and choose PebblePad ATLAS LTI 1.3 from the options

Tick to Load this tool in a new tab

Add the assignment dates and deadlines

Select the Save & Publish button



3. Create a new ATLAS assignment


Select the Load [Assignment 102] in a new window button to open ATLAS

Scroll to the bottom of the page, confirming the assignment settings are correct. 

Save to confirm. 

Select the Assignment button from the workspace menu bar to view all listed assignments.



Repeat the steps above to add additional assignments. Each will be saved within the same ATLAS workspace connected to the Canvas course.





Student View



Requires the user to be enrolled as a Student on the Canvas course.


1. Open the assignment

Select the assignment title to open the assignment

Select the Load [Assignment 102] in a new window button to open Pebble+


The link uses role recognition to detect a student user and direct them towards Pebble+.


2. Navigate Pebble+

Landing on the Pebble+ dashboard, you have full access to Get Creative or custom templates and resources.

Instructor View


Requires the user to be enrolled as a Teacher, Course Designer or Teaching Assistant on the Canvas course.



1. Open the assignment

Select the assignment title to open the assignment

Select the Load [Assignment 102] in a new window button to open ATLAS


The link uses role recognition to detect a non-student user (Teacher, Teaching Assistant etc) and direct them straight to the linked ATLAS workspace.


2. Navigate ATLAS workspace

Use the workspace's menu to access submissions, enrolments and settings.
