PebblePad’s assessment area, ATLAS, supports integration with the Turnitin plagiarism detection software to allow for originality checking and as an alternative method of adding grades and marking student papers.

Assessors are able to select single, multiple, or whole group submissions to send to Turnitin for checking. PebblePad sends an email as soon as the processing of submissions is complete allowing a user to return to the workspace to view the Turnitin ratings and click straight through to view any of the item's originality report.

Assets will be converted to PDFs before being scanned by Turnitin and then checked against their system. This means that assets such as workbooks or forms may have a much higher similarity than assets that are created entirely by students.

It is important to note that the integration is only possible where an organisation is already using Turnitin software under a separate license agreement.

The following video provides a comprehensive overview of the integration.

NOTE:  Use the chapter icon (second from right in the bottom toolbar) to view the topics covered in the video and skip straight to the one you want.
