Where default roles are not being used in a Brightspace configuration, adjustments are required in the LTI integration settings to ensure roles map between each platform correctly.
Overview
By default, Brightspace will use and pass the following roles via LTI into PebblePad.

In some cases, the role of Learner may be used in Brightspace - rather than Student. If so, the following adjustment will need to be made to the LTI settings.
How to set-up
Login to PebblePad using an account with Global Administrator permissions.
- Login to your PebblePad installation
- Use the Burger icon to open the sidebar menu
- Select Additional Settings and Administration to open the global administration panel
- Choose the Integrations tab
- Choose the Brightspace sub-menu tab
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to the section labelled Role Mappings
Add the Role in use in the field where this should be mapped: e.g:
- Where 'Learner' is used, type Learner in the field marked 'Learner > Member' and the role will be mapped:
